BIOGRAPHY
For three years I trained as an actor at Arts Educational drama school, London, where I studied body awareness, voice, elocution, interpretation of text and performance skills. I began my career as an actor-teacher with Interim Theatre Company, acting in plays and leading educationally themed workshops in schools. I rapidly progressed to the post of writer/director.
I went on to teach American students as Assistant Lecturer at Boston University’s London Programme. From 1995-2000 I was a resident director at Audio Productions, where I directed many of the UK’s leading actors in recordings of more than 150 audiobooks for Chivers Press and anthologies of poetry for Disky.
As a professional writer, I have written audio training scripts on aspects of work for Pergamon Press; for repertory theatre - the play Strictly Business at the Nuffield Theatre, Southampton; and for television - The Bill.
Since 2007 I have worked extensively as a role-play actor on the assessment programme of the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH).
I have been coaching people in communication skills since 2002 and have taught non-native speakers of English from more than 50 countries.
